Tashkent Biennale – a platform for new creative ideas

The VIII Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art kicked off at the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
Representatives of various ministries and agencies, creative organizations, diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in the country, art lovers, students were invited to the opening of this major international enlightenment event.
The VIII Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art demonstrates to foreign artists the scope of good aspirations in this direction, contributes to further integration of Uzbek masters of the brush into the world of artistic and creative processes, familiarizing art lovers to the works of talented youth, skilled artists and foreign creative workers.
The current Biennale of Contemporary Art is held under the symbolic motto “Art and Technology. Pros and Cons”. According to the Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Akmal Nuriddinov, this enlightenment project is aimed at clarifying the role, tasks, duties and responsibilities of artists in society at the current rapid pace of technical progress.
The VIII Tashkent International Biennale began with a conference on the issues of development of contemporary art and an exhibition of works by domestic and foreign masters of painting.
