Uzbekistan athletes won 19 medals at the Asian Games

As of August 23, athletes of Uzbekistan won 4 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals at the 18th Asian Games that are continuing in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.
Bekzod Abdurakhmonov, who performed in the freestyle wrestling contest in the 74 kilogram weight class, brought the first gold to the national team. In the Greco-Roman wrestling contest, Muminjon Abdullayev rose to the highest stage of the podium in a weight of 130 kilograms.
In addition, Shakhboz Abdujabborov and Shakhboz Kholmurzayev were the first to arrive at the finish in the rowing championships. In taekwondo championships (WTF) Nikita Rafalovich was awarded the gold medal.
Silver medals of the Asian Games were won by Rustam Assakalov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Sardor Tulkinkhujayev and Alisher Turdiyev (rowing, deuces), Dmitry Shokin, Madina Mannopova, Niyoz Pulatov (taekwondo WTF), Oksana Chusovitina (gymnastics, jumping), Doston Yokubov (weightlifting), Daria Latysheva (wushu).
Freestyle wrestlers Sirojiddin Khasanov, Magomed Ibragimov, David Modzmanashvili, four rowers – Zafar Usmonov, Islombek Mambetnazarov, Shekhroz Khakimov and Otamurod Rakhimov, Svetlana Osipova, Nigora Tursunkulova, who performed in taekwondo (WTF) championships, as well as weightlifter Adkhamjon Ergashev won bronze medals.
In the football match, Uzbekistan’s youth team defeated the Hong Kong national team in the 1/8 finals with a score of 3:0. In the quarterfinals, Uzbekistan national football team will play against the team of South Korea.
The Asian Games continue.
