On August 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Turkmenistan at the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

As previously reported, within the framework of the visit the President of Uzbekistan will take part at the meeting of the Council of the Founder States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS).

Current issues of cooperation of the Central Asian countries on improving the ecological state of the Aral Sea basin in the context of global climate change are in the agenda of the IFAS summit in Turkmenbashi city.

It is expected that, following the results of the meeting, the Joint Communiqué of the Council of Heads of States will be adopted.
