Afrosiab was an ancient fortress that flourished before the Mongol Yoke. Exhibits telling about the history of the ancient settlement from the middle of the first millennium B.C. to the XIII century are kept in the museum.
Emomali Rahmon was informed about the history of Afrosiab fortress and exhibits of the museum, the ancient past of Samarkand.
