International Chess Tournament dedicated to Georgiy Agzamov’s memory

Traditional International Tournament “Tashkent Open”, dedicated to the memory of the first Uzbek grandmaster Georgiy Agzamov, was held in Tashkent.
The competition, organized by the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan, was attended by about 200 chess players from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Belgium, Iran, Spain, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and other countries along with Uzbek chess players.
In the competitions, held according to the Swiss system, Kirill Stupak from Belarus took the first place with 7.5 points. Ortik Nigmatov and Nodirbek Yakubbayev with 7 points took the second and third places respectively.
In the competitions among women, Gulruhbegim Takhirjanova, Nadira Nadirjanova and Sarvinoz Kurbanbayeva reached the highest step of the podium.
Our fellow compatriots Akrom Tashkhujayev, Akmal Fayzullayev, Sarvarbek Alimjanov, Ulugbek Khudoyberganov and Sitora Saparova also became winners in their age categories.
