On April 19, the ceremony of commissioning the Kandym Gas Processing Complex took place in Bukhara region.
Uzbekistan has rich hydrocarbon reserves, which allow carrying out long-term projects. It is estimated that one third of all mineral resources in Central Asia is located on the territory of Uzbekistan, the country is among the world’s 20 leading gas producers.
The Kandym Gas Processing Complex was erected within the framework of the Production Sharing Agreement for the Kandym Field Group, Kandym, Khauzak, Shady and Kungrad sites in cooperation with the Russia’s Lukoil company.
It should be noted that construction of the Kandym Gas Processing Complex was completed 8 months ahead of schedule. Exactly two years ago, on April 19, 2016, the launching ceremony of construction of the complex was held. About 10 thousand employees and specialists took part in construction of the complex and its infrastructure. More than 2 thousand jobs were created after putting the plant into operation.
Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov, representatives of diplomatic corps, state and public organizations, workers and engineers of the plant, youth, representatives of domestic and foreign mass media attended the ceremony.
The Head of the state noted that activities carried out within the framework of the Action Strategy serves the consistent development of leading industries, actively attracting foreign direct investment in the fuel and energy sector. In particular, the Kandym Gas Processing Complex is another bright embodiment of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
The President of the Lukoil Company Vagit Alekperov, engineer of Kandym Gas Processing Complex Shakhzod Kurbonov, and veteran of the oil and gas industry Komil Fozilov noted that this historic event for Uzbekistan, the emergence of a complex, which can be called a miracle in the desert, became possible due to the ongoing reforms in the country on development of the economy of regions, improvement of well-being of people.

The launch of the Kandym Gas Processing Complex started a new stage in development of gas fields in Uzbekistan. Development of the oil and gas industry, which is one of the leading in the country, will serve the economic growth and further improvement of well-being of people.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a trip to Bukhara region held a meeting with khokims of the region and districts, heads of economic associations. At the meeting, execution of tasks set during the visit of the Head of the state to the region on February 16-17 this year, was discussed.
