The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, security cooperation, regional collaboration”. 

The President welcomed all participants and guests of the conference on behalf of people of Uzbekistan. 

“Organization of this conference is a joint initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan”, – the President said. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan is a logical continuation of efforts on ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan, undertaken by the international community. 

President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence noting, “Today we will be able to constructively discuss and develop a joint solution on one of the most acute regional and global problems of our time – the conflict in Afghanistan, which unfortunately has not ceased for almost 40 years”.
