Over the year of 2017, the number of Internet users in this country increased by 5.3 million, and today it exceeds 20 million.

Last year, the Uzbektelekom joint-stock company implemented a number of projects to satisfy growing requirements for Internet access services. 

Today, a priority task in the development of the country’s telecommunication networks is to introduce advanced information communication technologies in distant regions of the country. And therefore, Uzbektelekom is carrying out a range of measures to develop telecommunications in regions of the country. 

Modern fibre-optic technologies are being introduced. More than 2 thousand km of fibre-optic communication lines were laid last year alone. Their overall length is 22.3 thousand km now.
