This holiday in independent Uzbekistan is celebrated in honor of creation of own Armed forces. The parliament of the country on 14th January, 1992 has made a decision on transition of all parts and connections, military educational institutions and other military formations deployed in territory of the country, under jurisdiction of the Republic of Uzbekistan. So the beginning was necessary to creation of own Armed forces. On 29th December, 1993 January 14th has been declared by Day of defenders of the Native land.

This festival is celebrated widely in Uzbekistan and is considered as a holiday.

The election of deputies of the Legislative Chamber and local Kengashes will be held on December 22. It should be noted that, on September 20, was announced the beginning of the election campaign.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the informal Meeting of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States to be held in Saint Petersburg (Russia) on December 20, 2019.

On December 20-25, 2019, Malaysian delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (Dewan Rakyat) Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon will visit Uzbekistan.

On December 19-23, 2019, the delegation of the Supreme Electoral Council of the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Yüksek Seçim Kurulu) led by its President Sadi Güven will visit Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan delegation led by the Advisor to the President Rustam Kasimov and Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiyev will visit Malaysia on December 19-21, 2019.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Japan on 17-20 December 2019 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The law "On national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted on the December 10, 1992 at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan.

The national anthem of our country is a symbol of the sovereignty of the Republic.
